World Book Night in Calne

book night

World Book Night- the grown up version of the children’s dress up day celebrating books

A night to celebrate reading in all its forms. Get a free book, listen to music from ‘Calne Folk and Acoustic Collective’ as you grab a drink from our bar and use it to fuel a game of boggle or bananagrams.

We will also be running 3 of our local groups for you to test out.

Wordfest Writers Group- a group for writers of all levels and genres- normally meeting in the pub, they have relocated for World Book Night.

Calne Shared Readers (a book group where you don’t have to read, be read to aloud and enjoy reading in a different way)

Pass on a Poem- a sort of open mic for poetry, bring a poem to share or listen as others pass on their favourite poems.

Come along to the community hub and library to receive your free book ‘The Detective’s Daughter’ by Lesley Thomson.

Read it with your friends to start a book club- we will have guidance on how to start one along with many more activities.

Drop in or stay all evening.
